Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Safety Officer role based in Hyderabad. The Safety Officer will oversee workplace health and safety practices, conduct regular inspections across manufacturing and operational areas, and ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations and company policies. Responsibilities include identifying potential hazards, implementing preventive measures, supporting accident and incident investigations, and maintaining safety documentation and reports. The role involves coordinating safety training sessions, promoting a safety-first culture among employees and contractors, and collaborating with operations, HR, and management to address safety concerns. The Safety Officer will also work with security teams to support safe access control and emergency response procedures.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and Occupational Health practices, with the ability to apply them in industrial and manufacturing environments.
- Experience in Accident Investigation, including root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and reporting.
- Background in Safety Training, with the capability to design, deliver, and evaluate safety awareness programs for diverse teams.
- Understanding of Security procedures relevant to industrial sites, including emergency response coordination and basic risk assessment.
- Relevant degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with national safety regulations, standards, and best practices for steel manufacturing or heavy industry.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and guide teams at different organizational levels.
- Professional certifications in safety (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, ISO-related training) are an advantage.
