Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Safety Officer located in Chennai. The Safety Officer will oversee workplace safety and compliance with relevant regulations, ensuring the well-being of all employees. Key responsibilities include implementing and monitoring safety policies, conducting risk assessments, coordinating safety training sessions, investigating and documenting incidents, and maintaining records of safety procedures. The role will involve proactive communication with teams to promote a culture of safety within the organization.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Occupational Health and Safety standards, risk assessment, and workplace compliance
- Experience in implementing safety training programs and fostering a safety-first culture
- Knowledge and expertise in incident investigation and documentation
- Highly organized with attention to detail for maintaining safety records and procedural documentation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with teams
- Familiarity with safety regulations specific to the manufacturing or apparel industry is an advantage
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related field; certifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH are preferred
- Ability to work on-site and handle emergency situations with a calm, solution-oriented approach
