Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Safety Officer role based in Bawal. The Safety Officer will oversee daily safety operations on the shop floor, conduct regular safety inspections, and identify and mitigate workplace hazards. Responsibilities include implementing and monitoring health and safety policies, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards, and maintaining accurate safety records and reports. The role involves leading accident and near-miss investigations, recommending corrective and preventive actions, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to improve safety performance. The Safety Officer will organize and deliver safety training and awareness programs, support occupational health initiatives, and collaborate with security personnel to maintain a safe and secure work environment.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in Health & Safety and Occupational Health, with the ability to apply regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Accident Investigation, including root cause analysis, documentation, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Experience in Safety Training, including developing training materials, conducting toolbox talks, and promoting safety awareness at all levels.
- Understanding of Security practices related to access control, emergency response coordination, and overall site safety.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field; relevant safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) are an advantage.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and statutory compliance applicable to occupational health and safety in manufacturing.
- Strong observation, reporting, and documentation skills, with proficiency in using basic office software for records and reports.
- Ability to communicate clearly with all levels of the organization, influence safe behaviors, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced, on-site environment.
