Role Description The Safety Officer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Buxar. The Safety Officer will oversee workplace health and safety practices on electrical contracting and turnkey project sites, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and company policies. Daily responsibilities include conducting safety inspections, risk assessments, and site audits; identifying potential hazards; and recommending corrective actions. The role involves leading toolbox talks, organizing safety trainings, and promoting a strong safety culture among project teams and subcontractors. The Safety Officer will also maintain safety documentation, support occupational health initiatives, investigate incidents and near-misses, and collaborate with project managers and senior leadership to improve safety performance.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Health & Safety and Occupational Health skills, with practical knowledge of safety regulations and standards relevant to construction and electrical contracting.
- Candidates should possess Accident Investigation skills, including root cause analysis and incident reporting, to drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Candidates should possess Security awareness and risk management skills to help safeguard people, equipment, and project sites.
- Candidates should possess Safety Training skills, with the ability to deliver clear, engaging training sessions and safety briefings to diverse teams.
- Relevant qualifications such as a diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related field; safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) are an advantage.
- Experience working as a Safety Officer or in a similar role in construction, electrical contracting, or industrial projects, including on-site fieldwork.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and coach team members at all levels and promote a proactive safety culture.
- Proficiency in maintaining safety records, preparing reports, and using basic computer applications for documentation and communication.
