Position Title: Safety Supervisor
Reporting To: Safety Officer / Project Manager
Location: Mundra, Gujarat
Qualification Requirements
- Minimum Education: 10th + 12th
- Diploma (Any discipline, preference to Safety / Engineering)
- Preference to candidates with Safety / Engineering background
Mandatory Certification:
- NEBOSH (IGC / equivalent)
- ISS (Industrial Safety Supervisor) Certification
Experience: 2 years of relevant experience in safety supervision / HSE operations
Job Purpose
The Safety Supervisor is responsible for implementing and monitoring safety procedures at the site to ensure compliance with safety regulations, prevent accidents, and promote a strong safety culture among workers and staff.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Safety Implementation & Monitoring
- Enforce safety rules and procedures at project/site level.
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and report unsafe acts or conditions.
- Ensure proper usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Monitor work permits, risk assessments, and safety checklists.
Training & Awareness
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Train small groups of workers on site safety procedures.
- Promote safety awareness and positive safety behavior.
Incident Management
- Assist in investigation of accidents and near-misses.
- Prepare incident and observation reports.
- Recommend preventive and corrective actions.
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain safety registers, inspection reports, and daily logs.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and statutory requirements.
- Support audits, inspections, and regulatory visits.
Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and workers for safe operations.
- Report safety performance to Safety Officer / Management.
- Guide workers in safe methods of work.
Emergency Preparedness
- Support evacuation drills and emergency planning.
- Assist during emergencies and first-level response.
Skills & Competency Requirements
- Good knowledge of safety practices and site hazards
- Basic understanding of safety laws and compliance
- Ability to communicate effectively with workers and supervisors
- Observation and reporting skills
- Leadership and teamwork ability
- Basic computer knowledge preferred (MS Excel / Reports)
Working Conditions
- Full-time site-based role
- May require working in shifts or extended hours
- Exposure to project site environments
