JOB DESCRIPTION
Designation: Fire & Gas Engineer

Education Qualification: BE/B.Tech in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, E&TC, Fire Safety Engineering, or related disciplines.
Reporting: Lead Engineer / Engineering Manager / Project Manager

Location: Global Project Sites / Pune Office
Responsibilities / Job Profile:
• Design, review, and implement Fire & Gas (F&G) detection systems for industrial facilities and installations.
• Ensure compliance with international standards such as NFPA, IEC, ATEX, IECEx, and local regulations.
• Prepare and review technical specifications for Fire & Gas detection equipment and systems.
• Oversee installation, testing, commissioning, and validation of Fire & Gas systems.
• Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and system verification activities.
• Integrate Fire & Gas systems with control systems, safety systems, and monitoring platforms.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, audits, and safety assessments.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade Fire & Gas detection systems.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, as-built drawings, maintenance records, and testing reports.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, safety managers, clients, and regulatory authorities.
• Support project execution activities at domestic and international project locations.
• Participate in safety reviews, hazard assessments, and compliance audits.
• Provide technical guidance and support during project lifecycle activities.
Skills / Requirements:
• Strong knowledge of Fire & Gas Detection Systems and Safety Instrumented Systems.
• Familiarity with international standards including NFPA, IEC, ATEX, IECEx, ISO, and OHSAS.
• Experience in system design, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of Fire & Gas systems.
• Understanding of hazardous area classification and protection concepts.
• Knowledge of Fire & Gas simulation software such as FLACS or equivalent tools.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and engineering design software.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
• Ability to work independently as well as within multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel globally for project execution and site support activities.
Preferred Experience:
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical, Energy, Power, or Process Industries.
• Exposure to Honeywell Fire & Gas systems will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of Industrial Automation, DCS, PLC, and Safety Systems.
Working Conditions:
• Global travel to customer sites as per project requirements.
• Site-based work in industrial and remote locations when required.
• Flexible work arrangements, including remote work where applicable.
