Role Description
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to drive on-site Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) compliance across all construction activities. This role is responsible for ensuring that safety-critical workflows, permit systems, and corrective actions are rigorously maintained and that risk is surfaced before it becomes an incident. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad.
Responsibilities
1) On-Site Safety Management
● Conduct daily safety inspections and audits across all active work areas, including high-risk activities such as working at height, excavation, hot work, and crane operations.
● Issue and track Permits to Work (PTWs), ensuring permits are valid, visible, and correctly closed out.
● Investigate near-misses, unsafe acts, and incidents; document root causes and coordinate corrective actions through to closure.
● Brief contractors and labour on site safety requirements, method statements, and emergency procedures.
● Maintain safety registers including inductions, PPE distribution, toolbox talks, and accident records.
2) Compliance Monitoring & Reporting
● Log daily safety inspection outcomes, PTW statuses, and corrective action deadlines in the project management system.
● Monitor and escalate unresolved overdue corrective actions and high-risk scheduled activities to the Safety Manager.
● Ensure safety compliance dashboards reflect current site status for internal and client review.
● Generate regular safety compliance reports for internal governance and client-facing updates.
● Support PPE compliance monitoring and access control records, including coordination where automated safety monitoring tools are deployed on site.
3) Regulatory & Statutory Compliance
● Ensure on-site safety practices comply with the Factories Act, Building & Other Construction
Workers Act, and applicable state safety regulations.
● Maintain liaison with local statutory bodies and prepare documentation for safety inspections and approvals.
● Support preparation of HSE documentation packages for client audits and insurance reviews.
● Assist in developing and updating site-specific safety plans, emergency response procedures, and HSE training materials.
Qualifications
● 2–5 years of on-site construction safety experience with a developer, PMC, or main contractor.
● Diploma or degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or Civil Engineering.
● HSE or equivalent certification preferred.
● Sound knowledge of construction safety regulations, PTW systems, and risk assessment methodologies. ● Experience with digital safety management or incident reporting tools.
● Strong communication skills with the ability to influence safety behaviour across diverse contractor workforces.
Work Location : Ahmedabad (On-site)
Note: All candidates will be required to attend a one-week induction at our Bangalore office prior to deployment.
