About the Role
As a Ruby Code Annotation Specialist, you will work across AI-assisted development environments such as Cursor, Claude Code, and other modern coding platforms to evaluate and enhance Ruby-based codebases. Your responsibilities include reviewing code patches, identifying and debugging issues, validating business logic, and ensuring high-quality, production-ready outputs.
Responsibilities
- Review and annotate Ruby and Ruby on Rails code snippets for logic, correctness, and best practices
- Label code behavior, intent, edge cases, and potential failure scenarios for AI training datasets
- Evaluate AI-generated Ruby code outputs and provide structured feedback on accuracy and quality
- Identify bugs, anti-patterns, performance issues, and security concerns in Ruby code
- Annotate business logic, API interactions, database queries, and background job workflows
- Compare multiple Ruby solutions and rank them based on efficiency, readability, and maintainability
- Follow detailed annotation guidelines to ensure high-quality, consistent labels
- Collaborate with QA and research teams to refine annotation schemas and improve dataset quality.
Skills & Experience Required
- 2+ years Ruby/Rails experience
- Strong understanding of MVC patterns, ActiveRecord, RSpec
- Debugging and PR review skills
- Experience using AI coding platforms
- strong in MVC reasoning & patch evaluation
