Role Description The Rubber Technologist will work on-site in Mumbai in a full-time capacity, focusing on the development, testing, and optimization of rubber compounds and products. Day-to-day responsibilities include formulating rubber mixes, conducting physical and chemical tests, analyzing performance data, and recommending improvements to enhance durability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. The role involves close collaboration with production teams to ensure processes align with technical specifications and quality standards, as well as support for customization requests from clients. The Rubber Technologist will also document formulations, maintain test records, assist in troubleshooting manufacturing issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in materials and processes.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of rubber chemistry, compounding, and material properties, including experience specially in synthetic rubbers like EPDM and Butyl.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory testing methods, quality control procedures, and interpretation of test results for rubber products.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes for rubber goods, such as mixing, molding, curing, and extrusion, and the ability to support process optimization.
- Ability to collaborate with production, design, and customer service teams to translate technical requirements into practical solutions.
- Relevant technical qualification such as a diploma or degree in Rubber Technology, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to maintain accurate documentation and reports.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment.
- Prior experience in an industrial rubber manufacturing or allied industry is an advantage.
