Role Description The RSO NM (Radiation Safety Officer – Nuclear Medicine) role is a full-time, on-site position based in Hyderabad. The role involves monitoring and ensuring compliance with radiation safety regulations in nuclear medicine operations, including implementing safety protocols, conducting regular audits, and maintaining accurate records of radioactive materials. The RSO NM collaborates with nuclear medicine technologists, clinicians, and management to train staff on radiation safety, oversee dose optimization, and investigate any radiation-related incidents. Daily responsibilities also include coordinating with regulatory authorities, ensuring timely license renewals, and supporting quality assurance activities for nuclear medicine equipment and procedures.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of radiation safety principles, nuclear medicine procedures, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
- Experience in monitoring radiation exposure, handling radioactive materials, and maintaining safety documentation.
- Ability to conduct safety training, perform audits, and implement corrective actions in a clinical setting.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and capability to manage compliance-related reporting and recordkeeping.
- Relevant academic background in Nuclear Medicine, Radiological Physics, or a related field; certification or approval as RSO NM as per national regulatory requirements is highly desirable.
- Prior experience in a diagnostic or hospital environment, preferably in nuclear medicine or radiology.
- Commitment to patient and staff safety, ethical practices, and continuous professional development.
