POSITION SUMMARY
The Pre-Session Nursing Support role partners closely with the Medical Team and Admissions Teams to help ensure that every camper arrives safely prepared for their session. This position is responsible for conducting pre-session phone calls with camper families to review health histories, clarify medical needs and build trust and connection ahead of camper arrival. Through clear communication, clinical insight, and a warm, family-centered approach, this role helps identify and address and health-related considerations in advance to support a safe, inclusive and positive camp experience for all campers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Conduct pre-session phone calls with camper families to review medical forms, health histories and any current care needs.
- Clarify medications, allergies, dietary restrictions, and medical accommodations, ensuring accuracy and completeness of camper records.
- Identify potential health or safety concerns and escalate appropriately to the Medical Team for further review.
- Provide families with clear information about camp medical processes, policies and available support.
- Build rapport with families by creating a welcoming, reassuring and professional experience.
- Collaborate with Admissions and Medical Teams to ensure timely follow-up on outstanding items or documentation.
- Maintain accurate, detailed and confidential documentation of all interactions in accordance with organizational standards.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by sharing trends, common questions and opportunities to enhance the pre-session process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Experienced Registered Nurse with more than 1 year of pediatric care; camp experience with Roundup River Ranch or other SFCN camp is preferred.
- State of Colorado Registered Nursing License (or multi-state license)
