Are you an experienced Rotating Equipment Engineer with strong expertise in upstream Oil & Gas facilities and offshore projects?
OCS Services is looking for a technically strong Rotating Equipment Engineer to join our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team in Mumbai. This role will serve as the Technical Authority for Rotating Equipment, providing engineering assurance, technical support, and expertise across O&M assets, plant modifications, asset integrity activities, and brownfield projects.
The role requires extensive experience in offshore facilities design, rotating equipment, turbo machinery, compressors, condition monitoring, and dry gas seal systems, with FPSO experience being highly desirable.

As we continue to strengthen our Engineering Assurance and Operations & Maintenance capabilities, we are seeking an experienced Rotating Equipment Engineer to provide technical assurance and engineering support across our Oil & Gas assets.
This is an opportunity to contribute to major offshore and brownfield projects while supporting the reliability, integrity, and safe operation of critical rotating equipment.
What You Will Do
In this role, you will:
- Act as the Technical Authority for Rotating Equipment, providing specialist engineering advice across O&M assets and projects.
- Provide rotating equipment design advice and technical input to Operations & Maintenance activities.
- Prepare, review, and approve engineering designs and vendor deliverables for plant modifications and brownfield projects.
- Monitor the operating envelope to ensure rotating equipment and associated systems operate within design limits and applicable Safety Critical Element (SCE) performance standards.
- Act as Barrier Owner for relevant SCE elements within the Operational Performance Standard and Safety Case.
- Provide technical input into Operational Risk Assessments, risk workshops, and Management of Change (MoC) activities.
- Review concession requests related to rotating equipment and SCE elements.
- Support Verification and Assurance Audits, including third-party audits where required.
- Provide technical expertise and support to asset operations teams.
- Support development of Operations Assurance Plans, including readiness for handover and commissioning of new assets.
- Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, and other HSSE-related reviews.
- Participate in incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Provide technical support for monitoring, inspection, maintenance, and repair of rotating equipment.
- Prepare rotating equipment design deliverable requirements and contribute to scopes of work for engineering consultants.
- Ensure applicable codes, standards, and functional specifications are appropriate for the equipment and application.
- Monitor engineering deliverable progress and recommend corrective actions where required.
- Prepare technical and progress reports to support management decision-making.
- Support procurement activities through technical bid evaluations and vendor pre-qualification.
- Provide technical input for bids and proposals for new projects and operating assets.
- Undertake offshore asset support and travel as required.
What We Are Looking For
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong understanding of functional assurance processes, risk assessment, and engineering problem-solving.
Experience
- 15–20 years of experience as a Rotating Equipment Engineer within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Strong experience with upstream Oil & Gas production facilities.
- Minimum 7 years of offshore facilities design experience is mandatory.
- FPSO experience is highly preferred.
- Experience with an Oil & Gas Operating Company will be a significant advantage.
- Previous experience working with an Engineering Consultancy or EPC organization is required.
Technical Expertise
- Strong knowledge of international Codes & Standards for Rotating Equipment design.
- Experience with large turbomachinery, such as GE LM2500.
- Strong knowledge of large screw and centrifugal compressors.
- Proficiency in Condition Monitoring Systems and their application.
- Good knowledge of Dry Gas Seal systems and their applications.
- Experience with diesel engine-driven machinery and generators.
- Good understanding of driver/driven equipment interfaces, including associated electrical systems.
- Good understanding of multidisciplinary engineering interfaces.
- Awareness of current industry best practices.
