Role Overview
We are building next-generation defence robotics platforms, including:
- Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs)
- Remote Controlled Weapon Systems (RCWS)
- Future systems: drones, quadrupeds, and autonomous platforms
You will work on real-world robotics systems, contributing to:
- Autonomous navigation and decision-making
- ROS/ROS2-based robot software stacks
- Perception, localization, and mapping
- Simulation-to-real deployment pipelines
- Operator control and mission systems
Key Responsibilities :
1. Robotics Software Development
a. Develop high-performance robotics software using C++ (primary) and Python
b. Design modular, scalable systems using ROS/ROS2 architecture (nodes, topics, services, actions)
c. Build and maintain reusable robotics software frameworks
2. Autonomy & Navigation
a. Implement autonomous navigation stacks using ROS (Nav2 or custom)
b. Develop and optimize:
- Path planning algorithms (A*, DWA, RRT, Hybrid A*)
- Obstacle avoidance and local planners
c. Work on SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) using LiDAR, camera, or multi-sensor fusion
d. Implement localization techniques (AMCL, EKF, sensor fusion)
3. Perception & Sensor Processing
a. Build perception pipelines using OpenCV / sensor fusion
b. Process real-time data from:
- LiDAR
- IMU
- Cameras
- Encoders / ultrasonic sensors
c. Develop object detection, tracking, and environment understanding modules
4. Manipulation & Control
a. Work on robotic manipulation using MoveIt / ROS control
b. Implement kinematics (FK/IK), trajectory planning, and actuator control
c. Integrate robotic arms and payload systems where required
5. Simulation & Validation
a. Develop and test systems in Gazebo, MuJoCo, PyBullet, or similar simulators
b. Perform sim-to-real transfer and validation
c. Build realistic testing environments for autonomous systems
6. Systems & Communication
a. Design robot–ground control communication systems (TCP/UDP, ROS bridges)
b. Develop operator interfaces using Qt/QML / PyQt / ROS visualization tools (RViz)
c. Ensure real-time performance, fault tolerance, and system reliability
Mandatory Requirements
1. Strong proficiency in C++ (must-have)
2. Robotics fundamentals (kinematics, control systems)
3. Hands-on experience with ROS or ROS2
4. Autonomous navigation stack development (Nav2 or equivalent)
5. SLAM and localization (LiDAR-based or visual SLAM)
6. Path planning and motion planning algorithms
7. Sensor fusion (IMU, LiDAR, camera integration)
8. Solid understanding of:
a. Data structures & algorithms
b. Multithreading / concurrency
c. Memory management
9. Strong Linux development experience
10. Experience working on real robotics systems or complex system-level projects
Preferred Skills
1. Manipulation frameworks (MoveIt, ROS control)
2. Simulation tools (Gazebo, MuJoCo, Unity Sim)
3. Networking (TCP/UDP, ROS networking)
4. GUI development (Qt/QML / RViz plugins)
5. Exposure to reinforcement learning / imitation learning (bonus, not core)
Disqualifiers
1. Pure web development background
2. Notebook-only AI/ML experience without deployment
3. Lack of C++ or ROS/system-level experience

Net Pay Offered: Up to INR 6.0 LPA, depending on skills and experience.
