We are looking for a highly experienced Ruby on Rails Architect to lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance backend systems. This role requires a strong blend of architectural thinking, hands-on coding expertise, and leadership capabilities to drive end-to-end engineering excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and drive the overall architecture for Ruby on Rails-based applications
- Design scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems
- Lead technical discussions, solution design, and architecture reviews with stakeholders
- Mentor engineering teams on best practices, coding standards, and design patterns
- Collaborate with product, frontend, and DevOps teams for seamless delivery
- Ensure high code quality through reviews, testing strategies, and CI/CD pipelines
- Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and reliability
- Evaluate and recommend new tools, frameworks, and technologies
- Drive adoption of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and microservices architecture
Required Skills (Must Have)
- 10–15 years of experience in software development
- 5+ years of hands-on expertise in Ruby on Rails
- Strong experience in system design and architecture patterns
- Deep understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
- Strong database expertise:
- Relational: PostgreSQL, MySQL
- NoSQL: Redis, MongoDB
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong foundation in OOP, design patterns, and clean code principles
Good to Have
- Experience with React.js or modern frontend frameworks
- Exposure to DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building high-traffic, enterprise-grade applications
- Prior experience in Architect / Technical Leadership roles
