Role Overview Rootquotient is seeking a sharp and articulate Pre-Sales Solution Consultant to support our sales conversations with product companies across North America and the UK. You will serve as the first point of engagement for qualified inbound leads, translating business goals into actionable solution outlines in collaboration with our internal product, engineering, and strategy teams. Your role is to ensure clarity and confidence for our prospective clients during early discussions, helping shape Rootquotient's solution narrative before handing it over to the sales leadership for deal closure. Key Responsibilities Client Discovery & Solution Mapping Independently lead discovery conversations with qualified inbound prospects. Uncover business challenges, constraints, timelines, and goals directly with stakeholders. Translate functional business needs into robust technical solutions, showing clear understanding of custom digital product engineering. Map and document customer requirements, user journeys, and solution blueprints aligning functional insight with technical architecture. Proactively identify potential risks and limitations within proposed solutions. Solution Development & Proposal Creation Collaborate with internal product and engineering teams only for enrichment, not for direction; you own the initial technical solution framing. Utilize AI-based tools/platforms to automate, streamline, and elevate the quality of proposal creation and solution documentation. Draft and refine clear, compelling proposals and solution briefs—leveraging AI to ensure clarity, completeness, and competitive differentiation. Ensure all pre-sales deliverables—such as discovery summaries, technical briefs, estimation decks, and proposals—are created with minimal supervision and high quality. Deal Management and Pre-Sales Operations Manage the end-to-end deal cycle, including responding to RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs for potential clients. Own the submission of proposals and supporting documents, ensuring timelines and stakeholder alignment. Directly oversee all deals managed during the pre-sales stage, maintaining accountability for the quality and completeness of submissions sent to prospects. Coordinate internally to ensure proposal readiness, proactively addressing dependencies and operational gaps. Effort Estimation Build and validate initial effort estimates and solution sizing based on scope and complexity; cross-check with technical teams for clarification. Demonstrate understanding of modern technologies, digital product development, and agile estimation techniques. Client Engagement & Consulting Own all pre-sales client communication (calls, emails, proposal walkthroughs) and drive the consultative engagement. Guide clients toward the right-fit solutions, prioritizing their success over simply pitching capabilities. Qualifications 6–9 years of experience in pre-sales, solution consulting, or technical product roles within digital product engineering or technology consulting. Demonstrable ability to connect business needs to technical solutions, with minimal hand-holding from delivery or functional experts. Proven track record in mapping business processes, developing solution blueprints, and consulting directly with clients. Strong communication skills—able to simplify technical solutions for business stakeholders. Good grasp of digital product lifecycles, agile delivery practices, and modern technology stacks. Experience working cross-functionally for solution enrichment, not solution direction. Exposure to industries such as FinTech, HealthTech, EdTech, or Retail is a plus. High ownership mindset, proactive problem-solving, and a bias for action. Bid management experience is a plus
