We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Verification & Validation Delivery Senior Manager to be involved in a game changing role as we strive to make the nuclear industry more diverse.

The Rolls-Royce SMR, Development Engineering Function has four capability areas; Research & Technology, Verification and Validation, Test and Commissioning.

Reporting to the Chief Development Engineer, the Senior Manager – Verification and Validation (V&V) Delivery is accountable for leading and delivering V&V across the entire RR SMR business. This involves senior leadership of a large team and currently covers all aspects of the RR SMR including; Reactor Island, Conventional Island, Electrical Controls & Instrumentation, Civil Structures & Build Certainty.

Key role criteria:

Verification and Validation expertise

• Experience of verification and validation of product, ensuring comprehensive compliance with design, business & regulatory requirements.
• Experience in a safety-critical and highly-regulated industry (experience within the nuclear industry in particular would be desirable but is not essential).
  
  

Mentoring and leading of large teams to deliver

• The ability to clearly articulate their vision and goals whilst demonstrating positive behaviours that maximise engagement from teams and stakeholders.
• Experience of leading large teams to deliver in line with the programme cost/quality/schedule needs.
  
  

Communication and Influence

• Good interpersonal & communication skills, able to bring people together and solve problems as a multi-disciplinary team (e.g. Design & Development).
• Able to effectively manage uncertainty and change, communicate complex topics clearly and concisely and influence both internal and external stakeholders.
  
  

Systems Engineering

• Has a systems-thinking mindset with practical experience of using Systems Engineering toolsets & techniques to deliver positive outcomes.
• Demonstrates a clear, analytical and methodical approach, able to manage change and uncertainty.
  
  

Nuclear Safety Culture

• The ability to model strong and positive safety behaviours and to instil it in others, including respectfully challenging others and taking the initiative to build a strong safety culture.

Pay and Benefits

We anticipate paying a salary of between £68,000 to £90,000 (DOE) plus:-

• Bonus - Performance related bonus of up to 17%
• Benefits Allowance - £5500, enabling you to create a bespoke package
• Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
• Holidays - 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days
• Private Medical Insurance - BUPA single cover health care
• Life Ansurance - 6x pensionable pay
