POSITION SUMMARY
The Surveillance Team protects the assets of the Rolling Hills Casino and Resort on behalf of the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians through the use of a video management system, cameras, and gaming systems. The Shift Supervisor is a working supervisor that monitors live coverage, conducts reviews and investigations, and writes investigative reports. The Shift Supervisor is also responsible to conduct training and provide guidance for direct reports, and oversee the development of the Surveillance Monitors. The Surveillance Team ensures Rolling Hills Casino and Resort departments act in accordance with approved policies and procedures, and provides timely information for the benefit of a fair, honest, and safe experience for guests, vendors, and employees, alike.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitors live camera coverage, conducts historical reviews, and investigates data and footage, as requested/necessary.
- Evaluates the standard operations of the casino and resort for risk, improprieties, conflicts of interest, public health and safety concerns, and take appropriate actions to minimize any adverse effects.
- Logs and reports, as required, while maintaining ongoing communication with casino and resort operations.
- Creates and documents necessary reports to the Tribal Gaming Commission, Executive Director, Surveillance and casino enterprise departments, also including local and state law enforcement agencies, as appropriate.
- Provides detailed information and relevant footage for requests, particularly track external requests and release of PTGC-approved information to external agencies.
- Interacts with law enforcement, district attorneys, federal agencies and other casino surveillance departments as needed. Send information to other casinos using surveillance network as required.
- Instructs and evaluates surveillance employees on techniques and use of equipment.
- Ensures proper reports and logs are complied with accurately by surveillance agents.
- Continuously monitors the surveillance department for changes and offers advice to the department manager on appropriate actions necessary to improve the overall operations of the department.
- Maintains open communication and works in conjunction with Casino Security, the Tribal Gaming Commission, and local law enforcement agencies to ensure public health, safety, and integrity of casino enterprise operations.
- Comprehends and complies with all tribal gaming regulatory requirements, including the gaming ordinance, Tribal Internal Control Standards, and casino policies and procedures, that include Anti-Money Laundering, Know Your Customer, and Title 31 requirements.
- Develops and implements appropriate training plans and onboarding for current and new employees.
- Evaluates, monitors and records staff development progress through training and subjective testing processes; Brings forth training needs and assists with training implementation and effectiveness-evaluations, as determined
- Responsible for providing training to appropriate staff in counterfeit currency detection, scams, card counting, surveillance coverage, and other areas as instructed by Surveillance Management.
- Develop and maintain electronic training manuals for the Surveillance Team.
- Supervises Surveillance Monitors and is responsible for the work product, professionalism, and consistent training of all shifts.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, particularly regarding confidentiality and ethics.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Other duties may be assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 21 years of age.
- Valid California driver’s license.
- Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college of technical school or two years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete training on table games such as: Blackjack, Pai Gow, Three Card Poker, Craps, Roulette, Let It Ride, Seven Card Stud, and Texas’ Hold-Em, .
- Requires demonstrated understanding, and hands-on experience with digital surveillance systems.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Must be able to work with positive and negative numbers.
- Qualified individuals should be able to articulate a strong commitment to diversity and have the ability to work effectively with individuals from different backgrounds.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Gaming license criteria for Tier 1 employees to be met and maintained is a condition of employment.
- Must obtain Title 31 certification as trained by Rolling Hills Casino.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certification related to surveillance training preferred.
- Two years prior surveillance systems administration or technical support and/or certifications from major vendor or independent certification body in surveillance systems administration,) is preferred.

Pre-employment Drug Testing and a Department of Justice Fingerprinting clearance through Federal, State and Child Abuse Index is a contingency for an offer of employment.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or identify various components and parts of a surveillance system and cameras. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is characterized as an office setting, where computers, surveillance and computer racks, power sources, battery back-up systems, gaming system diagnostic tools are utilized and an array of standard office equipment will be supplied and used. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to tobacco smoke and a cold work environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with multiple audio and visual transactions occurring simultaneously.
Employment with Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians is voluntarily entered. All PBNI personnel are employed on an at-will basis. At-will employment may be terminated with or without cause, and with or without notice at any time by the employee or by PBNI.
