Overview:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under supervision from the Biogas Operations Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician Assistant will be responsible for general equipment maintenance and ensuring the grounds are maintained.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in an office and uncontrolled atmosphere. Exposure to harsh conditions—such as: dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures—for short periods of time is possible. All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear. Ability to lift and carry 30 lbs. on a regular basis is required. Have the ability to push and pull 50 lbs or more on a regular basis. Have the ability to reach overhead from an elevated platform or uneven working surface. Must be able to stand/walk 50% of the time on uneven work surfaces.
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in groundskeeping such as landscaping and cleanup of grounds area.
- Assist with office and shop cleanup.
- Assist with the maintenance of equipment such as oil changes, and filter changes.
- Assist the operations staff, helping with valve alignments, and completing documentation properly.
- Ensure all areas are clean and well maintained, including company vehicles.
- Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established safety and company requirements.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Must be at least 16 years of age. Must be at least 18 years of age to drive a company vehicle. Company vehicle operators are required to have a valid driver’s license and clean MVR.
- Attention to detail is required.
- Ability to effectively learn and acquire new knowledge and skills.
- Excellent communication skills; both oral and written is required.
- Requires effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities.
- Ability to effectively interact with co-workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts.
