For temporary employment of 12 months Rocket Factory Augsburg AG is looking for a Ground Systems Engineer (m/f/d)

RFA is seeking a Ground Systems Engineer, to join our Launch Team in Augsburg. The Launch Team is involved in every aspect of using our launch vehicle. The Launch Team develops all launch site infrastructure, from the pad to mission control and the integration facilities; operational campaign plans for the integration, testing, and launch of the vehicle; mission planning including customer relations, payload integration and, and mission design; operational safety of the vehicle and flight; flight licensing applications; and discussions with launch sites to find the right fit.

Your Tasks

• Develop fluidic systems and processes for our launch site and other ground systems
• Drive the design complex fluidic systems from initial requirements to implementation
• Prepare P&ID’s and process documentation
• Perform sizing calculations
• Travel to different sites for system implementation and commissioning
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders ensuring requirements are communicated and met

Your Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, with a focus on fluidic process development and design
• >3 years’ practical engineering design experience
• Able to apply the relevant theories, codes, and standards appropriate to the process discipline (ISO, EIGA, ASTM, ASME, PED Directive)
• Competent in producing detailed P&ID’s, equipment specifications, and SOPs
• Experience working with cryogens, hazardous products and high-pressure gases
• Experience with HAZOP and Safety in Design is a plus
• Capable of working independently, while prioritising various tasks
• Able to communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary and multicultural team
• Fluent in written and spoken English, German is a plus
