The long term substitute position is expected to start as soon as possible and continue through the balance of the school year. Actual final salary will be determined based on actual days worked.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Make short and long-range plans for each subject area of instruction
- Provide for individual differences in the learning needs of students
- Provide a classroom climate that is based on mutual respect, rapport, fairness and consistency
- Monitor student performance and be adaptable to current curriculum needs
- Give students prompt and meaningful feedback on their performance
- Inform parents of student progress in terms of grade-level expectations
- Interact positively with students, colleagues, parents and community members
- Direct student teachers, educational assistants, student tutors and parent volunteers when such personnel are utilized
- Handle student discipline and attendance problems and assist with the enforcement of all school rules
- Work collaboratively with co-workers , as part of a professional learning community
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality about students
- Perform job-related, non-teaching duties
- Participate in staff development activities
- Participate in school improvement and parent involvement activities
- Perform other such duties as assigned by the building administrator
Qualifications:
- Washington State Teacher Certification with appropriate endorsement.
- Preference may be given to those with successful teaching experience at the primary school level.
- Knowledge of subject matter in classroom instruction.
- Candidates should be able to teach the full curriculum.
- Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance.
