Job details:
Company
Black Coffee Robotics builds and deploys advanced robotics software for autonomy-driven systems. We work with robotics startups and industrial partners globally, delivering high-quality solutions across ROS/ROS2, simulation, motion planning, perception, and large-scale autonomous systems.
Our past work includes warehouse robots, floor cleaners, lawn mowers, assistive robotic arms, autonomous boats, and industrial robotics for prefab and robot-driven house construction. Alongside client work, we are actively developing in-house products focused on motion planning for robotic arms and high-fidelity simulation tooling.
Role
As a Robotics Engineering Intern, you’ll work on real robotics software problems under the guidance of experienced engineers. You’ll contribute to ROS2 systems, simulation workflows, motion planning pipelines, and tooling for robotic arms.
Our work is centered on robotic arms: motion planning, perception-integrated manipulation, controls, and simulation-first development with ROS2, Isaac Sim, and MuJoCo.
This internship is suited to engineers who want hands-on experience building real robotics systems, not just academic prototypes.
This is a paid, fully remote internship for India-based candidates.
What you’ll work on
- Assist in building ROS2-based systems for robotic arms
- Develop and test motion planning, manipulation, and control modules
- Work with simulation environments such as Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, or Gazebo
- Write clean C++ and Python code for robotics applications
- Debug issues related to transforms, kinematics, planning, simulation, and deployment
- Validate features through testing, simulation, and review
- Contribute to internal motion planning and simulation tooling
- Work with senior engineers on client and internal robotics projects
What we’re looking for - Technical
- Final-year undergraduate student, fresh graduate, postgraduate, or engineer with less than 1 year of experience
- Strong C++ and Python fundamentals
- Hands-on ROS2 experience
- Good grasp of motion planning, controls, kinematics, and transforms, especially for manipulators
- Experience with simulation tools such as Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, or Gazebo
- Comfortable working in Linux and Dockerized environments
- Prior robotics project experience involving real hardware or realistic simulation is strongly preferred
What we’re looking for - Personal
- High ownership for assigned tasks
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Clear communication in a remote setup
- Willingness to learn quickly and work through technical ambiguity
- Ability to take feedback and improve code quality
- Interest in building production-grade robotics software
Perks
- Direct exposure to real-world robotics deployments
- Mentorship from experienced robotics engineers
- Opportunity to work on robotic arms, simulation, motion planning, and perception-integrated manipulation
- Ownership of meaningful technical tasks, not toy projects
- Remote flexibility with high responsibility
- Opportunity to convert into a full-time role based on performance
