Role Description

🌟 Role Overview
We are looking for a Founding Robotics Engineer to build the core robotics stack from scratch—covering simulation, autonomy, and real-world deployment.
You will work directly with founders to define the technology roadmap, architecture, and product direction, especially for industrial inspection robotics and constrained environments (pipes, vertical systems, NDT use cases).
🧭 What You Will Own (0 → 1 Responsibility)
🧠 Core Robotics Architecture
- Design end-to-end ROS2-based system architecture
- Build scalable, reusable ROS2 libraries and frameworks
🧪 Simulation & Digital Twin
- Lead Gazebo / Ignition simulation environments
- Build high-fidelity digital twins
- Develop sim-to-real transfer strategies
🤖 Autonomy & Intelligence
- SLAM, localization, navigation (Nav2)
- Path planning (A*, RRT)
- Perception using OpenCV / AI models
⚙️ Hardware + Software Integration
- Integrate ROS2 with real robotic systems
- Work with sensors (LiDAR, IMU, cameras)
- Optimize real-time performance
🚀 Deployment & Field Testing
- Simulation → real-world deployment
- Industrial testing and validation
🔧 Required Skills
- ROS2 (Humble/Foxy or later)
- Gazebo / Ignition simulation
- C++ and Python
- Robotics fundamentals (kinematics, control, sensor fusion)
