About the Role
We're looking for a Robotics Applications Engineer to serve as the bridge between our technology and real-world customer challenges.
In this role, you'll work directly with robotic systems, customer use cases, and our engineering team to design, build, and demonstrate end-to-end robotic solutions. You'll take customer problems and turn them into compelling demonstrations and pilot deployments that showcase the capabilities of Cobot Cognition's technology.
This is a highly hands-on role for someone who enjoys working across hardware, software, AI, and customer-facing activities. You'll help validate new applications, integrate robotic platforms, and play a key role in bringing intelligent robotics into production environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and build end-to-end robotic demonstrations and proof-of-concepts based on customer requirements
* Integrate robotic hardware, sensors, and perception systems with Cobot Cognition's software stack
* Develop and maintain demo environments, test scenarios, and application workflows
* Deploy, commission, and troubleshoot robotic systems in laboratory and customer environments
* Work closely with engineering teams to identify product gaps, integration challenges, and opportunities for improvement
* Evaluate new robotic platforms, sensors, and tooling to expand the range of supported applications
* Create technical documentation, videos, and supporting materials for customer demonstrations and pilot projects
* Support pre-sales activities through technical discussions, workshops, and live demonstrations
* Collect feedback from customers and translate real-world requirements into actionable engineering insights
* Stay current with developments in robotics, AI, perception, and autonomous systems
Requirements
* 2+ years of hands-on experience working with robotic systems in industrial, research, or commercial environments
* Experience integrating and deploying robots, sensors, cameras, or automation systems
* Strong programming skills in Python
* Experience with ROS/ROS2 and robotic software development workflows
* Practical understanding of robot kinematics, motion planning, perception, or manipulation
* Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across hardware and software systems
* Experience working with computer vision, sensor fusion, or AI-enabled robotic systems
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
* Self-motivated and comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup environment
* Willingness to work hands-on with physical robotic hardware and customer deployments
Nice to Have
* Experience with industrial robots, collaborative robots, or autonomous mobile robots
* Familiarity with computer vision frameworks such as OpenCV, DepthAI, or modern vision foundation models
* Experience with machine learning for robotics, including imitation learning, reinforcement learning, or embodied AI
* Experience deploying robotic systems in manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, or field robotics environments
* Familiarity with simulation tools such as Isaac Sim, Gazebo, or MuJoCo
* Experience working directly with customers, pilots, or field deployments
* Experience with cloud infrastructure, robotics telemetry, or fleet management systems
