Role Description The Resident Medical Officer (RMO) is a full-time, on-site role based at SUJAY HOSPITAL in Mumbai. The RMO is responsible for providing round-the-clock inpatient medical care, including initial assessment, daily rounds, monitoring clinical status, and updating treatment plans under the guidance of senior consultants. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing admissions and discharges, prescribing medications as per protocols, coordinating investigations, documenting clinical notes, and ensuring accurate medical records. The RMO collaborates closely with nursing, paramedical, and specialist teams to support emergency care, respond to patient calls, and assist during procedures when required. The role also involves ensuring adherence to hospital policies, infection control standards, and patient safety guidelines, while maintaining clear communication with patients and families.
Qualifications
- Recognized medical degree (MBBS BAMS BHMS) and valid registration with the appropriate medical council.
- Foundational clinical experience in hospital settings such as internal medicine, emergency care, or critical care.
- Strong clinical judgment, ability to interpret diagnostic reports, and competence in basic procedures relevant to inpatient care.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and interacting with patients and families.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts, manage multiple cases, and remain calm in high-pressure or emergency situations.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, ethical standards, and compliance with hospital protocols and infection control measures.
- Basic proficiency in medical documentation systems and comfort with electronic health records.
- Prior experience as an RMO or junior doctor in a multispecialty hospital in Mumbai or similar urban setting is an advantage.
