Coopersburg, PA | Full Time, Seasonal, Hourly | $22 - $25 per hour

What is needed to be our Pool Manager:

  • Bachelor’s degree or working towards a Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 1+  years of competitive swim coaching experience is preferred 
  • 1+ years of experience in pool management/administration preferred 
  • 1+ years of swim lesson experience preferred 
  • American Red Cross certification for Lifeguarding required
  • Previous experience with YMCA, or voluntary/non-profit organizations preferred  
  • Knowledge of research methods and a high degree of computer efficiency in Microsoft office products
  • Must be organized and possess superior communication skills 
  • Must have evening and weekend availability

 

The responsibilities we will trust you with as our Pool Manager:

  • Maintains a minimum of 30 hours of direct service each week. Remaining hours are dedicated to administrative functions such as returning response to members, staff needs, completing payroll, etc.
  • Summer oversight of SOLECO pool including but not limited to recruitment, hiring, and training of lifeguard and swim instructor staff, creating and maintaining lifeguard and swim instructor schedule, and direct service and coverage of open shifts as required 
  • Ensures the pool opens and closes effectively, with cleanliness, organization and safety in mind
  • Promotes fair pool usage and a positive, nurturing atmosphere for all types of pool users (swim team, open swim, swim lessons, water aerobics, etc.) 
  • Work positively, maturely and effectively with members (especially families), colleagues, staff and supervisors
  • Respond effectively and in accordance with YMCA guidelines to problems that occur. Anticipate and minimize potential problems with participants or the aquatic environment. Execute and enforce all safety regulations, policies and procedures
  • Proactively communicate with supervisor, staff and members. Respond in a timely manner to all member/staff inquiries, needs, comments and/or complaints
  • Support Special Events and other interdepartmental needs as necessary
  • Attend Aquatics meetings, organizational and departmental meetings as required
