Key Responsibilities
- Real-Time Trade Monitoring: Continuously monitor client and proprietary trading activities across equity, derivatives, commodities, and currency segments to detect abnormal patterns or suspicious transactions.
- Risk Management & Controls: Track client exposures, margin utilization, MTM (Mark-to-Market) positions, and ensure adherence to defined risk limits and margin requirements.
- Surveillance & Alerts Handling: Review system-generated alerts relating to price manipulation, insider trading, circular trading, front running, and other market abuse scenarios. Investigate and escalate issues as required.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulations prescribed by SEBI, stock exchanges (NSE/BSE/MCX), and other regulatory bodies. Maintain updated knowledge of circulars and guidelines.
- Client Risk Profiling: Monitor high-risk clients, unusual trading behavior, and concentration risks. Recommend necessary restrictions or actions.
- Reporting & Documentation: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly risk and surveillance reports. Maintain proper documentation of alerts, investigations, and actions taken.
- Margin & Exposure Management: Ensure timely margin collection, monitor margin shortfalls, and coordinate with operations for square-off actions when required.
- Coordination: Work closely with dealing, compliance, and operations teams to ensure seamless risk control and issue resolution.
- Audit & Inspection Support: Assist in internal and external audits, regulatory inspections, and provide necessary data and clarifications.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of capital markets (Equity, F&O, Commodities, Currency)
- Knowledge of risk management systems and surveillance tools
- Familiarity with SEBI and exchange regulations
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail
- Ability to identify patterns and anomalies in trading behaviour
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- High level of integrity and professional ethics
