About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Technology Risk Management Analyst to join our AI & Decision Product Enablement Program (AI & DPE) team. This critical role focuses on managing technology risk, compliance, and regulatory frameworks within India, ensuring our innovative products meet all necessary legal and security standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing guidance to development teams, interpreting evolving regulatory requirements such as RBI (PSS, IDL), DPDP Act, and broader data privacy laws, and designing controls to mitigate risks effectively. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence Mastercard’s risk management strategy in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment, working closely with cross-functional teams across geographies to maintain the integrity and security of our products and services.
Qualifications
- 8-12 years of comprehensive experience in managing audits and technology risk management, preferably within the payments or financial services industry.
- Extensive knowledge of regulatory requirements, particularly RBI regulations like PSS (Prepaid Payment Instruments) and IDL (Interoperability & Data Localization).
- Proven track record of managing large-scale internal and external audits, including RBI audits, with a focus on technology controls and compliance.
- Experience in designing and implementing preventative and detective controls within first-line environments.
- Strong understanding of IT risk frameworks, risk metrics, and risk reporting, with the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable control practices.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with technical teams, regulatory authorities, and senior leadership effectively.
- Relevant professional certifications such as CIA, CISA, CISM, or CFE are highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance on control, compliance, and regulatory requirements to development, architecture, and project management teams.
- Interpret and operationalize evolving regulatory mandates, including RBI regulations, privacy laws, and data protection acts, into practical controls.
- Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust controls to prevent and detect compliance violations within AI-driven and data-intensive environments.
- Partner with global teams, particularly US-based counterparts, to manage and mature the program’s control landscape, ensuring consistency and compliance across regions.
- Lead and coordinate end-to-end audit processes, including preparation, scope definition, and remediation actions, ensuring readiness for internal and external audits.
- Identify control gaps through risk assessments, facilitate resolution strategies, and drive long-term risk mitigation initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal risk, compliance, and governance teams to maintain a comprehensive control environment aligned with industry standards and regulatory expectations.
- Support the development of control documentation, policies, and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance and audit readiness.
- Act as a liaison between engineering teams, external auditors, and regulatory agencies, fostering clear communication and effective issue resolution.
