Employment with Ridgefield School District is conditional on:
- An approved criminal background clearance through OSPI, Washington State Patrol, and/or Federal Bureau of Investigation

Reports To: Building Principal or designee
Work Year: 180 Days plus applicable in-service and/or TRI days, following
Ridgefield School District’s academic calendar.
Salary Range: $70,246.42 - 125,476.64 (includes Base and TRI Contracts. Subject
to change based on finalized state legislation budget, based on
Degree Level, Credits/Clock Hours, and verifiable prior experience.
Additional compensation may be earned based on supplemental
work as outlined in the Ridgefield Education Association
Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Position Summary
Ridgefield School District is proud of our professional teaching staff! The successful
candidate is equity-oriented, student-centered, and committed to ensuring that every child
develops strong academic, behavioral, and social-emotional skills. As teaching
professionals, teachers ensure all instruction aligns with RSD Guaranteed Standards, Scope
and Sequence documents, and district-approved curriculum.
This position provides direct instruction to assigned students, and is jointly responsible for
necessary intervention and/or extension for students school-wide, in collaboration with the
Building Leadership Team and Professional Learning Teams (PLTs). All team members are
expected to contribute to a positive school-wide culture committed to integrity, kindness,
and collaboration. This position requires strong instructional leadership, relationship-
building skills, adaptability, and a commitment to ensuring equitable access to engaging
instruction for all students, particularly those who are historically underserved or
underrepresented.

● Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 intervention and/or extension, based on results of formative,
summative, and performance individual student assessments

problem-solving; promote a student-centered environment where all students see
themselves as scholars
● Utilize hands-on, minds-on approaches, real-world phenomena, academic discourse,

Curriculum & Assessment
● Must be willing to teach College in the High School (CiHS)
● Maintain familiarity with education research; integrate research-based practices to
maximize student learning
● Partner with building administrators, Building Leadership Teams (BLTs), and
Professional Learning Teams (PLTs) to identify and address student learning needs
● Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and other school staff to identify students
needing additional support and develop intervention plans; support the
implementation of tiered system of Response to Intervention (RTI)
● Promote the use of data to inform instructional decisions and improve student
outcomes; support and utilize centralized academic data collection, analysis, and
progress monitoring systems
● Monitor student learning trends to help reduce opportunity and achievement gaps
● Provide regular feedback to students and families on student goals, expectations,
and progress

● Advocate for and implement practices that promote equity and culturally responsive
teaching

Required Qualifications
● Masters degree in Science
● Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with Biology endorsement
● Experience working within and leading Professional Learning Teams (PLTs),
CharacterStrong, and Response to Intervention systems
● Knowledge of standards-based instruction, assessment practices, and intervention
programs
● Strong communication, facilitation, and leadership skills
● Demonstrated evidence of creating and maintaining effective, student-centered
classroom environments
● Demonstrated evidence of effectively working with students, families, and staff
● Demonstrated ability to modify instruction to improve student learning through the
use of formative, summative, and performance assessment strategies

Preferred Qualifications
● Physical Science Endorsement
● Minimum of three (3) years successful teaching experience
● Prior High School teaching experience
● Experience with teaching College in the High School (CiHS)
● Bilingual proficiency (Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian, or other languages)
● Experience with Professional Learning Communities, Positive Behavioral
Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Response to Intervention (RTI), CharacterStrong
● Willingness to provide professional development to adults

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
The position requires working in a dynamic school environment, with limited travel. The role
involves frequent interruptions, shifting priorities, and deadlines. Candidates must be able
to safely lift up to 50 lbs., engage in prolonged computer use, and attend evening meetings
if required. The work environment may include interactions with distraught individuals and
exposure to infectious diseases.
