Job Title:
Global Customer & Commodity Pricing Analyst
Role summary:
We are looking for a Global Pricing Analyst based in India who will own customer and product pricing across regions for our multi-product manufacturing business.
The role will track global market and competitor trends, monitor commodity and raw material cost movements, and proactively recommend price changes to protect margins while supporting growth.
Key responsibilities:
- Monitor global market trends and competitor pricing across key regions to ensure our price positioning remains competitive and aligned with strategy.
- Track key commodity and raw material prices and assess impact on product cost and margins by customer/product/region.
- Build and maintain pricing and cost-to-serve models to simulate impact of RM/commodity movements and proposed price changes on volume, revenue, and margin.
- Proactively identify where price increases, surcharges, or discount reductions are needed based on cost inflation and market dynamics, and prepare clear business cases.
- Coordinate with regional and global Sales teams to plan and implement price increases and surcharges, including customer-level proposals, negotiation ranges, and communication material.
- Support annual/global price review cycles and tender/contract renewals with scenario analysis (commodity outlook, FX, volume assumptions, price-volume-mix impact).
- Maintain accurate pricing and discount structures in systems, ensuring alignment between quotes, contracts, and master data.
- Develop and publish regular pricing and margin dashboards for management (by region, product family, key accounts), highlighting risks and opportunities.
- Partner with Product Management, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure pricing reflects value proposition, cost structure, and capacity/utilization considerations.
- Contributes to improving global pricing processes, policies, and governance, including standardization of discount frameworks and escalation rules.
Desired profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, or related quantitative field.
- 5-8 years’ experience in pricing, commercial finance, or business analytics, preferably in manufacturing or industrial products with exposure to commodity-linked inputs.
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, including margin analysis, price-volume-mix, and sensitivity analysis for changes in raw material and commodity costs.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with BI tools (Power BI/Tableau) and comfort working with large datasets and multiple regions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex pricing and cost topics in simple, commercial language to Sales and business leaders.
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills to work effectively with global Sales, Finance, Product, and Supply Chain teams across time zones.
- High attention to detail, strong ownership mindset, and comfort working in a fast-moving, cost-volatile environment.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in a global or regional pricing hub
- Exposure to value-based pricing, dynamic pricing, or structured discount policies in B2B manufacturing.
- Familiarity with tracking and interpreting commodity indices and integrating them into pricing mechanisms or escalation clauses.
