Rhubarb is a chef-driven, farm-direct restaurant in the heart of downtown Asheville serving modern Appalachian cuisine with genuine hospitality. What does that mean? That at Rhubarb, we believe in people-first hospitality: from our employees to our farm partners to our guests. We are hiring a Server, but the person will always come before the role.
The Person
As a Server at Rhubarb, you believe that great service starts with a genuine personality. You believe that the whole process is important when it comes to dining: from sourcing our produce and spirits locally, to sustainability, to working as a team to execute a consistent experience for our guests. You are interested in mastering your craft and view hospitality as vital to that work.
The Role
- Open and/or close the restaurant according to checklists for cleanliness and efficiency
- Provide excellent service for guests with a full range of knowledge of both food and beverage offerings (great wine knowledge a plus!)
- Use best judgement for tailoring the guest experience, including the coursing of dishes
- Have an interest in the success of the restaurant as a whole and the experience of every guest
- Run food and beverages in accordance with table and seat numbers
- Ring in orders accurately and quickly; handle payments
The Qualifications
- 2+ years of previous serving experience
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Lift up to 50lbs
