About Drucks
At Drucks, we're building one of the world's first consumer footwear brands powered entirely by additive manufacturing.
Every shoe begins with an individual's feet, not a standard mold. We are building the complete technology stack that makes this possible, including computational design workflows, digital manufacturing tools, custom software, proprietary manufacturing processes, and advanced FDM 3D printing.
We're looking for someone who enjoys solving engineering problems through computational design and automation.
Please Read Before Applying
This is NOT a traditional footwear design role. This is NOT a role for:
- UI/UX Designers
- Graphic Designers
- Fashion Designers
- Footwear Designers
- Industrial Designers focused primarily on concept development
This role is for engineers and computational designers who are deeply comfortable with Rhino, Grasshopper, parametric design, and FDM 3D printing.
If your primary expertise is Rhino, Grasshopper, geometry, automation, scripting, and digital manufacturing, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Work On
You'll help us build the computational backbone of our footwear platform.
Instead of manually creating every model, you'll develop systems that enable our team to generate thousands of unique products efficiently.
Your work will include:
- Creating complex production-ready geometry in Rhino
- Building parametric Grasshopper definitions
- Developing reusable computational design workflows
- Automating repetitive modelling tasks
- Preparing models for additive manufacturing
- Optimizing slicing workflows
- Improving manufacturing efficiency
- Working with FDM printing and flexible materials
- Collaborating closely with our R&D team to solve manufacturing challenges
- Continuously improving our digital design-to-print pipeline
Must Have (Non-Negotiable)
Rhino
You should be highly proficient in Rhino. This includes:
- Surface modelling
- Solid modelling
- SubD workflows
- Mesh handling
- Geometry repair
- Manufacturing-ready modelling
- Part decomposition
- Working with complex organic geometry
Grasshopper
Strong experience building parametric definitions. You should understand:
- Data trees
- Lists
- Parametric modelling
- Reusable workflows
- Geometry automation
- Performance optimization
Additive Manufacturing
Good understanding of FDM printing. Including:
- Print orientation
- Layer strategy
- Supports
- Flow tuning
- Wall strategy
- Material behaviour
- Print optimization
Slicers
Hands-on experience with at least one:
- Orca Slicer
- Cura
- Bambu Studio
- PrusaSlicer
Good to Have
- Python scripting
- RhinoPython
- C#
- Blender
- TPU printing
- Flexible materials
- Klipper
- Marlin
- Printer calibration
- Custom-built printers
- Firmware configuration
- Printer electronics
- Motion tuning
- Toolpath optimization
We Don't Care About
We do not hire based on:
- College
- Degree
- Academic branch
- CGPA
Who Will Enjoy This Role?
You'll enjoy working with us if you:
- Love solving difficult engineering problems
- Spend your free time experimenting with Rhino or Grasshopper
- Like automating repetitive work instead of doing it manually
- Constantly optimize your workflows
- Treat failed prints as learning opportunities
- Enjoy building systems rather than simply creating models
If you're exceptional at the skills above, we want to meet you.
