📡 Validate the Wireless Future — From Silicon to Signal
At Texas Instruments, our RF Connectivity group is building the next generation of WiFi and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) transceiver SoCs — the chips that will power connected devices, smart industry, and precision location systems worldwide. If you're an RF validation expert who thrives on system-level debug, RF measurements, and hands-on silicon validation, this is your opportunity.
🔎 About the Role
We are looking for a talented RF Transceiver Validation Engineer – WiFi & UWB | SoC to join our RF Transceiver Validation Group in Bangalore, India — part of TI's expanding RF Connectivity division.
You will work on cutting-edge RF Transceiver products (including MCU-integrated SoCs) for Wireless-LAN (WiFi) and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) systems, covering the full transceiver chain — from LNA, mixers, base-band filters, and high-speed ADCs on the receive side, to DAC, up-conversion mixers, and power amplifier stages on the transmit side, along with PLL/LO systems, calibration modules, and power management.
This is a high-ownership, technically enriching role with ample opportunities to file patents and become a recognized leader in your domain.
📌 Key Responsibilities
🔭 System-Level RF Understanding
- Apply knowledge of transmit & receive chain operating principles
- Work with system parameters such as PER/BER/SNR, EVM, and RMSEE
- Understand modulation schemes and their impact on transceiver performance
🔬 RF Transceiver SoC Debug
- Rapidly and systematically identify root causes across transceiver blocks
- Debug power & biasing issues, register sequences, board-level issues, and process marginalities
- Drive solutions independently — not just report problems
📏 RF Measurements
- Execute and interpret receiver chain measurements: Noise Figure, Gain, P1dB, IIP2, IIP3, IQ gain/phase error, LO leakage, DC offsets
- Perform TX chain, PLL, and reference clock measurements
- Execute DC operating point measurements via test modes, voltage, and current consumption
🖥️ PCB Board Development
- Develop PCB schematics and layouts for RF validation boards
- Handle PCB material selection, stackup design, and design reviews
- Work with 3rd party PCB service companies; proficiency in Altium and/or Cadence Allegro
⚙️ Test Automation & Data Analysis
- Develop automated measurement flows with instrument interfacing
- Process measured data across PVT corners and visualize results
- Distinguish between IC vs. setup issues using statistical analysis
🔌 Interface Design & Programming
- Design and program communication interfaces: SPI, UART, UCI
🛠️ Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related field
- 3–10 years of relevant RF validation or RF design experience
- Strong proficiency in 2 or more of the key skill areas listed, particularly:
- RF system-level understanding (transceiver chains, modulation, PER/BER/SNR)
- RF SoC debug (root cause analysis, power/biasing, process marginalities)
- RF measurements (NF, gain, linearity, IQ error, LO leakage, EVM)
- Strong team player with deep engagement capability with RF design teams
🌟 Preferred Qualifications
- PCB design experience with Altium or Cadence Allegro
- Test automation skills using Python or equivalent scripting languages
- Experience with SPI/UART/UCI interface design and programming
- Exposure to calibration modules — AGC, PDET, gain, offset, IQMM
- Familiarity with low-power design and complex power management
- Strong analytical and statistical data interpretation skills
- Passion for patent filing and technical innovation
