Position Summary:
Hours are Monday-Friday 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm with a 10% shift differential
Safely, accurately, and efficiently perform shipping, receiving, warehousing, and material handling functions to support customer order fulfillment and production operations. Responsibilities include building and shipping small package and truck orders for domestic and international customers, receiving incoming materials, put-away, picking orders, maintaining inventory accuracy and raw material handling by staging, delivering, and returning materials required for production while ensuring proper inventory control.
The Shipping & Warehouse Associate is cross trained in all areas of shipping and warehouse operations and may assist with receiving, warehousing, and production material support activities as needed to ensure efficient department operations.
Essential Job Functions:
· Work with all employees, customers, and vendors in a civil, professional, and respectful manner always – verbally, non-verbally and in writing.
· Safely and accurately pull material to fill customer orders.
· Package a variety of products from small and light (small package) to large and heavy (truck orders) in accordance with customers’ instructions for domestic and international orders
· Compare identifying information and count, weigh, or measure items of outgoing shipments to verify information against orders.
· Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
· Properly prepare freight for shipment to avoid any damage.
· Verify, keep, and maintain records and photos on outgoing shipments and prepare paperwork for shipments.
· Load outbound trucks and inbound raw materials and packaging items
· Transport raw materials to and from production
· Maintain correct inventory levels and perform cycle counts as needed
· Complete with minimal verification shipping documents to comply with DOT and Hazmat Regulations.
· Operate fork-lift truck, order picking truck, hand truck and all necessary equipment after successful completion of training and certification to move product from storage or work area to shipping and/or production.
· Maintain warehouse in an organized, efficient, safe, and clean manner.
· Provide feedback on improvements within the shipping and warehouse department with regards to safety, accuracy, productivity, and civility.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Understanding proper shipping in accordance with DOT/UPS/IATA/IMDG regulations.
· Ability to learn and effectively use internal WMS and order fulfilment software.
· Ability to identify continuous improvements opportunities and partner with leadership and other Shipping associates to implement.
· Strong proficiency in operating a forklift and order picker.
· Ability to gain knowledge of raw materials, finished goods and packaging supplies.
· Ability to complete Hazmat shipping training and successfully pass Hazmat certification.
· Strong organizational and attention to detail skills and be self-motivated.
· Ability to prioritize and work independently and know when to seek assistance for complex tasks.
· Competent understanding and operation of a computer required.

Summary
Experience and Education:
· Two (2) years successful experience in a manufacturing/shipping environment preferred.
· High school graduate or GED; must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
· Previous experience in the chemical industry preferred.
· Basic understanding of operating a computer.
