PROTEIN CHEF | LO FOODS
Revenue Head – Quick Commerce & Marketplaces
Function: Revenue, Growth & Strategic Partnerships
Reporting To: CEO and Business Head (jointly)
Location: Bengaluru
Experience: 5–7 years, with proven Quick Commerce P&L ownership
Education: MBA preferred; strong demonstrated track record also considered
About the Opportunity
Protein Chef is scaling fast across India's Quick Commerce ecosystem — Zepto, Blinkit, Instamart, and emerging platforms are now central to how we acquire and retain customers. We're looking for a Revenue Head who can own this charter end-to-end: platform strategy, P&L, team leadership, and the operational backbone (supply chain, fill rates, dispatch) that makes growth sustainable rather than fragile.
This is a builder's role. You will set the strategic direction for our Quick Commerce business, lead the Key Account Management and Performance Marketing teams directly, and work hand-in-hand with Supply Chain to ensure availability never becomes the bottleneck to growth. You will report jointly to the CEO and Category Head and be the single point of accountability for revenue performance across existing and emerging platforms.
What You Will Own
1. Strategic Platform Management & Growth
– Own platform-level strategy across Zepto, Blinkit, and Instamart — pricing architecture, assortment strategy, and category positioning.
– Build and deepen senior-level relationships with category and business heads at each platform, beyond day-to-day account management.
– Identify and lead entry into emerging Quick Commerce and new-age retail platforms ahead of competition.
– Drive joint business planning (JBP) at a strategic level — annual and quarterly growth charters, not just promotional calendars.
2. Revenue, P&L & Expansion
– Own the full Quick Commerce revenue line — topline growth, contribution margins, and profitability by platform and city.
– Build the business case and execution plan for geographic and platform expansion.
– Identify new revenue levers — bundling, subscription hooks, premium SKUs, and platform-specific innovations.
– Present revenue performance, expansion plans, and risk areas to the CEO and Category Head on a regular cadence.
3. Team Leadership
– Directly manage and grow the Key Account Management team, setting account-level targets and coaching execution.
– Directly manage the Performance Marketing team — own advertising strategy, budget allocation, and ROAS/ACoS targets across platforms.
– Build a high-ownership, data-driven culture across both teams, with clear accountability for every rupee spent and every SKU listed.
– Recruit, onboard, and upskill the team as the charter scales across cities and platforms.
4. Supply Chain & Operational Coordination
– Coordinate closely with Supply Chain to ensure 95%+ fill rates and zero avoidable stockouts across dark stores and cities.
– Oversee dispatch planning and PO management cycles in coordination with the supply chain and warehousing teams.
– Resolve cross-functional bottlenecks — production planning, logistics delays, or platform-side inventory issues — before they impact revenue.
– Build forward-looking demand forecasts in partnership with supply chain to support expansion and seasonal planning.
5. Cross-Functional Coordination
– Act as the connective layer between Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Category teams for all Quick Commerce-related decisions.
– Partner with the brand and creative teams to ensure platform creatives, listings, and campaigns meet category-best standards.
– Represent Quick Commerce priorities in broader business planning forums, ensuring the channel's needs are reflected in company-wide decisions.
6. Data, Reporting & Business Reviews
– Own the revenue and operations dashboard — sales, fill rates, ad spends, visibility scores, and contribution margins, by platform.
– Lead business reviews, both internal and platform-side, with clear insight and forward action plans.
– Build predictive visibility into slow-moving SKUs and channel risks, partnering with category and marketing teams on interventions.
Ideal Background
– 5–7 years of experience with demonstrated ownership of a Quick Commerce P&L, ideally on Zepto, Blinkit, or Instamart, either platform-side or brand-side.
– Prior experience managing FMCG or D2C food products at scale, with a strong grasp of category economics and channel dynamics.
– Experience leading or building a team — Key Account Management and/or Performance Marketing functions.
– Strong working knowledge of dark store economics, fill rate management, PO and dispatch cycles, and platform ranking/advertising logic.
– Track record of identifying and successfully entering new platforms or channels ahead of competition.
Traits
– Strategic operator — equally comfortable setting platform strategy and getting into the weeds of a fill-rate escalation.
– Ownership mindset — owns outcomes across functions, not just their own team's metrics.
– Builder of people — has hired, coached, and scaled high-performing teams.
– Commercially sharp — thinks in contribution margins, payback periods, and channel profitability, not just topline growth.
– Relationship builder — earns trust with senior stakeholders, both internal and at platform partners.
– Adaptable — thrives in fast-moving, ambiguous environments where playbooks are still being written.
