Panchabhuta Retreat(R) is a luxury boutique nature retreat located on Nirvana beach adjoining the Kagal fort hillock in the Gokarna region in coastal Karnataka. Surrounded by golden sands, estuarine backwaters, rocky hillock and coconut groves, the retreat is designed as a sanctuary for stillness, ecological learning and regenerative living.

Role Description The Retreat Manager – Retreats & Immersions is a full-time, on-site role based in Kumta, responsible for end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of nature retreats and immersive experiences. This role oversees retreat schedules, logistics, guest communication, bookings, and on-ground operations to ensure smooth, safe, and memorable experiences. The Retreat Manager collaborates with local partners, facilitators, and internal teams to design retreat programs aligned with PCF’s values, including responsible tourism and community engagement. Daily tasks include managing hospitality and accommodation, coordinating activities and workshops, supervising retreat staff, handling feedback, and continuously improving guest experience. The role also involves basic budgeting, reporting, and contributing to marketing and outreach efforts for retreats and immersions.
Qualifications
- Experience in retreat, hospitality, or event management, including coordination of schedules, logistics, and guest services.
- Strong skills in communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder coordination, with the ability to work closely with local communities and partners.
- Organizational and administrative abilities, including basic budgeting, reporting, and use of digital tools for bookings and operations.
- Ability to design or support experiential programs, workshops, and nature-based activities that reflect responsible tourism principles.
- Comfort working on-site in Kumta, including handling on-ground challenges, supervising staff, and being available during retreats and peak guest times.
- Demonstrated interest in sustainability, nature conservation, or responsible tourism; prior experience in these areas is an advantage.
- Relevant educational background in hospitality, tourism, management, social sciences, or related fields is preferred.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Kannada and other local languages and familiarity with the Kumta region or coastal Karnataka is a plus.
