The Store manager is responsible for overseeing the store sales operations related to footwear and non-footwear products within a store. The primary focus of his role is to drive sales, meet sales targets, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Roles & responsibilities for Store Manager
- Store Manager oversees all sales activities, setting sales targets for staff and ensuring that sales are tracked and monitored.
- He must take store hygiene seriously and always maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Store manager must ensure that his staff is held to high standards of discipline and have strict rules regarding grooming and appearance.
- Store manager must oversee the daily gate meeting, where he set targets and plan for the dispatch of indents.
- He must also carefully monitor the performance of inventory, ensuring to maintain adequate stock levels of fast-moving items, and reducing slow-moving items.
- He must maintain organized, store-wise and category-wise systems to keep track of all items and provide efficient support for customers.
- Store Manager must take a strategic approach to sales by implementing add-on sales planning, add-on sale value planning, and billing value increase planning to maximize the value of each transaction.
- He must make stock audit every month and as when necessary.
- A periodic verification (once in 15 days) of the infrastructure of the store would help prevent the last-minute maintenance works.
- Store Manager is responsible for all infrastructure maintenance, planning and repairs to be attended.
- He must organize local publicity and advertisement through the various media channels after taking the suggestions and permission from HO.
- He is overall responsible for maintaining the stock availability in his branch.
- EOSS stocks and new models must be displayed prominently.
- Store Manager must make stock audit/self-audit every month and as when necessary.
- He must ensure liquidation of >6 months stock inventory.
- Store manager must ensure that his staff must sign the incoming and outgoing register every day during their arrival and exit.
- Store Manager must maintain register for customer feedback for improving the service quality.
- Store Manager must ensure the sales proceeds cash should be deposited into the bank account on daily basis and reconcile the daybook/cash book.
- Store manager must send daily, weekly, monthly reports on stock, staff, shop to HO
Qualifications
- 5+ years of retail sales and retail management experience specific to footwear and Demonstrated ability to train employees and be an effective salesperson
- Strong customer service, management and communication skills
- Graduate (Any Stream)
