Role Description The Retail Store Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Puducherry. This position is responsible for overseeing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, merchandising, stock management, and cash handling. The manager leads and motivates the store team, sets performance expectations, and ensures that customers receive attentive, professional service. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring sales targets, managing inventory levels, coordinating with suppliers, implementing loss prevention measures, and maintaining store cleanliness and visual presentation. The role also involves resolving customer issues, preparing basic sales and performance reports, and ensuring that store policies and standards are consistently followed.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction skills to ensure a positive in-store experience and build lasting relationships.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to interact with customers, guide team members, and coordinate with suppliers and management.
- Candidates should possess Store Management skills to handle daily operations, staff scheduling, merchandising, and basic reporting.
- Candidates should possess Retail Loss Prevention skills to safeguard inventory, monitor procedures, and minimize shrinkage.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include prior retail or store management experience, familiarity with basic POS and inventory systems, and the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred; further education in business, retail management, or a related field is an advantage.
