Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Retail Buyer role based in Kerala, India. The Retail Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and selecting products, negotiating with suppliers, and managing purchasing terms to optimize cost, quality, and availability. Daily tasks include analyzing sales data and market trends, planning assortments, and forecasting demand to maintain appropriate stock levels across hypermarkets. The role involves close collaboration with store operations, merchandising, and inventory teams to ensure timely replenishment and effective product positioning. The Retail Buyer will also monitor supplier performance, review pricing strategies, and contribute to promotional planning to enhance sales and customer experience.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Retail Buying and Purchasing skills, including vendor selection, negotiation, and category management.
- Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills for sales analysis, demand forecasting, and market trend evaluation.
- Candidates should possess Inventory Management skills to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize shrinkage and stockouts.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with suppliers, internal teams, and store leadership.
- Relevant experience in retail or buying, preferably in Electricals/Electronic or Mobiles in large-format stores.
- Strong knowledge of local and national market dynamics and consumer preferences.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems, inventory tools, and spreadsheets for data analysis and reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Retail Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, make data-driven decisions, and manage multiple categories or projects.
