Role Objective
To lead front-of-house service operations during assigned shifts by ensuring exceptional guest experiences, efficient team coordination, adherence to service standards, and seamless communication between guests, service staff, kitchen, and bar teams.
The Restaurant Captain will act as the operational leader on the floor, ensuring that every guest receives prompt, professional, and memorable service in line with The Spirited Spot’s premium hospitality standards.

1. Guest Service Excellence
Responsibilities
Welcome and interact with guests professionally and courteously
Ensure personalized and attentive service throughout the guest journey
Understand guest preferences and provide menu recommendations
Handle guest requests, concerns, and feedback promptly
Ensure a memorable dining and beverage experience
Key Metrics
Guest satisfaction scores
Positive guest feedback
Repeat guest recognition
Complaint resolution effectiveness
Service quality ratings
2. Floor Operations Management
Responsibilities
Supervise daily restaurant floor operations during assigned shifts
Monitor table allocation and guest seating efficiency
Ensure service flow remains smooth during peak operational hours
Coordinate effectively with kitchen and bar teams
Ensure adherence to service SOPs and operational standards
Key Metrics
Table turnover efficiency
Service delivery time
Shift operational audit scores
Floor readiness compliance

3. Team Supervision & Leadership
Responsibilities
Lead stewards and service associates during service hours
Conduct pre-shift briefings and allocate responsibilities
Monitor staff performance and provide on-floor coaching
Ensure grooming, discipline, and professionalism standards are maintained
Assist management in training new team members

4. Food & Beverage Knowledge
Responsibilities
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of food menus, cocktails, beverages, wines, and promotions
Explain menu offerings confidently to guests
Recommend food and beverage pairings
Promote signature cocktails, chef specials, and premium offerings
Stay updated on menu changes and seasonal launches

5. Sales & Revenue Enhancement
Responsibilities
Drive upselling of premium dishes, cocktails, and experiences
Encourage add-on sales and menu recommendations
Support achievement of daily and monthly revenue targets
Assist in promotional activities and special events

6. Complaint Handling & Service Recovery
Responsibilities
Address guest concerns professionally and efficiently
Resolve minor operational and service issues independently
Escalate critical issues to management when required
Ensure guest satisfaction through effective service recovery

7. Hygiene, Safety & Compliance
Responsibilities
Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards across service areas
Monitor table setup and restaurant presentation standards
Ensure compliance with food safety and operational SOPs
Maintain personal grooming and professional appearance
Report maintenance and safety concerns promptly

8. Inventory & Service Equipment Control
Responsibilities
Monitor service equipment usage and handling
Ensure availability of menus, service tools, and guest supplies
Assist in inventory checks when required

Desired Candidate Profile
Strong experience in restaurant, lounge, bar, or hospitality service operations
Excellent communication and guest interaction skills

Preferred Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management or Hospitality Management preferred
2–5 years of experience in restaurant or premium hospitality service
Prior experience in fine dining, premium bars, lounges, or luxury hospitality brands preferred
