Restaurant Captain – The Dressing Room

About The Dressing Room
The Dressing Room is a premium all-day café and dining destination built around clean, wholesome food, specialty coffee, and warm hospitality.
We’re looking for a passionate Restaurant Captain who is more than just a service professional—someone who is an excellent communicator, a natural salesperson, and a hospitality enthusiast who genuinely enjoys interacting with people.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver exceptional guest service while creating a warm and welcoming dining experience.
* Guide guests through our menu by confidently explaining ingredients, nutritional benefits, preparation methods, and flavour profiles.
* Recommend dishes, beverages, desserts, and retail products based on guest preferences, driving meaningful upselling without being pushy.
* Build relationships with regular guests and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
* Supervise floor operations and coordinate with the kitchen and bar to ensure smooth service.
* Train and support junior service staff to maintain The Dressing Room’s service standards.
* Handle guest feedback professionally and resolve concerns promptly.
* Ensure cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene standards are maintained throughout the restaurant.
* Assist in achieving sales targets and improving average order value through effective product knowledge and recommendations.
Requirements
* Minimum 2-4 years of experience as a Restaurant Captain or Senior Steward in a premium café, restaurant, boutique hotel, or fine-dining establishment.
* Excellent spoken English is mandatory. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
* A confident personality with the ability to engage guests naturally and build rapport.
* Strong sales aptitude with a proven ability to recommend and upsell menu items.
* Good understanding of food, ingredients, healthy eating, dietary preferences, and basic nutrition.
* Knowledge of specialty coffee and beverages will be an added advantage.
* Well-groomed, presentable, and professional in appearance.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
