Role Description
The Residential Counsellor is a full-time on-site position based in Thiruvallur primarily focused on providing support and guidance to the residents of Sevalaya’s facilities. Responsibilities include offering emotional and psychological support, managing individual cases, implementing mental health strategies, and conducting counseling sessions. The role also involves facilitating effective communication, fostering a positive environment, and ensuring the overall well-being of the residents under the organization’s care.
Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of Human Services and Case Management
- Strong Interpersonal Skills to build trust and effective relationships
- A background in Psychology and understanding of Mental Health practices
- Empathy, patience, and excellent problem-solving abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field
- Experience in residential care or working with vulnerable populations is an advantage
- Proficiency in Tamil and/or other regional languages is preferred
