Role Description The Resident Medical Officer (RMO) is a full-time, on-site role based in Sarangarh. The RMO will provide primary medical care to patients, including conducting clinical assessments, diagnosing common conditions, prescribing treatments, and monitoring patient progress. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing outpatient and inpatient care, overseeing basic emergency and trauma management, coordinating referrals to specialists or higher-level facilities, and maintaining accurate medical records. The RMO will collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and community health workers to ensure high-quality patient care and support health awareness initiatives aligned with the organization’s mission. The role may also involve training junior clinical staff, participating in health camps, and contributing to preventive health programs in the surrounding communities.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Medicine, with the ability to diagnose and manage common medical conditions in a community and primary care setting.
- Demonstrated Patient Care skills, including compassionate clinical practice, clear communication, and adherence to ethical and safety standards.
- Experience in Surgery or minor surgical procedures, with the ability to assist or perform basic interventions as per facility capabilities.
- Ability to provide Training to junior medical staff, nurses, and community health workers, and to support continuous learning within the clinical team.
- Comfort Working with Physicians and multidisciplinary teams, including effective collaboration, case discussion, and coordinated care.
- Recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution and valid registration with the appropriate medical council.
- Experience in rural or community health settings is highly desirable, especially work involving marginalized populations.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills, with proficiency in maintaining medical records and reporting for clinical and program activities.
- Ability to work on-site in Sarangarh, adapt to resource-limited environments, and demonstrate resilience and commitment to community service.
