Job Description
Job Family Definition:
College/University Graduate hires (within 12 months of graduation per the company's definition) undergoing a specific training and development path within the EMEA Graduate Program.
Responsibilities
Management Level Definition:
- Investigate and explore emerging research areas, translating conceptual ideas into working prototypes or proofs of concept.
- Assist in the design and implementation of research methodologies, data collection, and analysis.
- Develop and implement algorithms and models: Apply techniques in areas like deep learning, natural language processing, and advanced analytics to develop innovative solutions.
- Partner with researchers, engineers, and product managers to align research initiatives with product vision.
- Clearly present research progress, findings, and technical insights to various stakeholders.
- Maintain detailed records of research procedures, methodologies, and outcomes, and prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings.
- Depending on the project, research results may lead to external publications or intellectual property.
Education & Experience
- Currently pursuing a PhD program in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong academic background with a passion for research and a desire to contribute to the advancement of knowledge.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with a problem-solving mindset.
- Proficiency in relevant programming languages and tools, such as Python, R, or other specialized software and equipment as applicable to the field.
- Experience with data analysis tools and methodologies, including statistical analysis software.
- Time management skills and working with strict deadlines.
- A collaborative, solution focused mindset and overall sense of urgency.
Impact/Scope
- University students enrolled in a PhD program who are engaged in a technical or non-technical internship role at the company during their academic studies or during summer breaks between university semesters. These internships are designed to provide hands-on experience in a professional setting, allowing PhD candidates to apply their advanced research, analytical, and problem-solving skills to real-world challenges. Interns may contribute to ongoing projects, conduct independent research, or support strategic initiatives aligned with their field of study.
