Job details:
We’re hiring.
At Sekrop Innovations, we’re building Kavach - an AI-powered, solar-operated wildlife deterrence system designed to reduce crop loss while enabling non-lethal coexistence between farmers and wildlife.
As we move from prototype to field validation, we’re looking for someone who can help answer a difficult question:
How do different animal species actually respond to deterrence systems over time?
This role sits at the intersection of:
🐘 Human–Wildlife Conflict
🔊 Animal Acoustics & Behaviour
🌾 Agriculture & Conservation
🤖 Applied Research for Real-World Deployment
What you’ll work on
• Review scientific literature and convert findings into actionable product decisions
• Study behavioural responses to acoustic and non-acoustic deterrence methods
• Help design field validation and observation protocols
• Build species-specific hypotheses and response frameworks
• Support pilot analysis and behavioural reporting
• Work alongside engineers and product teams to translate research into deployment decisions
Minimum Eligibility (Required)
• Current student or recent graduate (Final Year / Masters / PhD) in:
– Wildlife Biology
– Zoology
– Behavioural Ecology
– Conservation Biology
– Veterinary Sciences
– Ecology
– Bioacoustics
– Animal Behaviour or related fields
• Must have contributed to at least one research publication, conference paper, thesis, preprint, or substantial research project in a relevant domain
• Strong scientific reading and writing ability
Preferred
• Published work related to:
– Human–wildlife conflict
– Animal behaviour
– Bioacoustics
– Acoustic ecology
– Wildlife monitoring
– Conservation science
• Experience with:
– Field studies
– Experimental design
– Camera traps
– Behavioural analysis
– R / Python for research
What success looks like (first 60 days)
You will help us produce:
• Species response literature synthesis
• Behaviour observation framework
• Experimental validation recommendations
• Pilot analysis reports
Location
IISER Mohali (preferred) | Hybrid possible
Duration
2–6 Months
Compensation
Paid (based on experience and fit)
