Role OverviewWe are looking for a Research & Insights Business Partner who can study markets, consumers, categories, competitors, and product trends — and convert that research into clear business opportunities for Garden Flavours.
This is not a backend research or reporting-only role.
The right person should be able to connect:
Market trends → Consumer behaviour → Product opportunity → Flavour concept → Customer pitch → Business action
You will work closely with R&D, Application, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Solutions teams to identify what the market needs, what food brands are building, and where Garden Flavours can create relevant flavour-led solutions.
Key Responsibilities1. Market, Category & Trend Research- Track Indian and global trends across food, beverage, bakery, dairy, confectionery, savoury, snacks, QSR, HoReCa, nutraceuticals, and functional foods.
- Identify emerging flavour, ingredient, product, format, and application trends.
- Study new product launches, seasonal trends, consumer preference shifts, and category innovation.
- Create regular trend reports and opportunity notes for internal teams.
2. Consumer & Behavioural Insights- Analyse consumer behaviour behind trends, not just the trend itself.
- Understand why certain flavour profiles, ingredients, formats, or claims are gaining traction.
- Identify shifts such as health-conscious choices, indulgence, nostalgia, premiumisation, convenience, global cuisine exposure, low-sugar demand, functional foods, etc.
- Translate consumer insights into product and flavour opportunities.
3. Competitor & Product Benchmarking- Track competitors across flavour houses, food ingredient companies, FMCG brands, QSRs, D2C food brands, beverage brands, and bakery/dairy brands.
- Analyse product portfolios, launches, claims, communication, positioning, and application areas.
- Build benchmarking reports covering flavour profiles, category gaps, formats, claims, price/value positioning, and innovation direction.
4. Insight to Product Opportunity- Convert research into actionable recommendations for Garden Flavours.
- Suggest flavour concepts, application ideas, product directions, and innovation territories.
- Support R&D and Application teams with insight-backed briefs.
- Help identify “what we should create next” based on market relevance and business potential.
5. Sales & Business Development Support- Support the Sales and Customer Solutions teams with insight-led pitches and presentations.
- Build client-ready decks that explain trends, opportunities, and recommended flavour concepts.
- Help identify potential customer segments, target brands, distributors, and business opportunities.
- Convert research into lead-generation and account-opening ideas.
6. Global Market Research- Study international markets and identify opportunities for Garden Flavours.
- Research category trends, regulatory considerations, flavour preferences, customer segments, competitors, and route-to-market possibilities.
- Support export/business development teams with global market entry insights and customer targeting.
7. Research Systems & Reporting- Maintain a structured trend radar and innovation pipeline.
- Create monthly insight reports, competitor trackers, category deep-dives, and opportunity decks.
- Build simple, usable formats that can be shared across leadership, sales, R&D, and marketing teams.
- Ensure insights are backed by credible sources, structured analysis, and clear recommendations.
What We Are Looking ForThe ideal candidate should have experience in at least some of the following:
- FMCG research, consumer insights, category research, business research, or market intelligence.
- Food, beverage, flavour, ingredients, QSR, HoReCa, bakery, dairy, or nutraceutical categories.
- Studying consumer trends and translating them into business or product recommendations.
- Creating structured reports, business presentations, market maps, or category decks.
- Working with cross-functional teams such as product, R&D, marketing, sales, or business development.
Must-Have Requirements- 3–7 years of experience in research, insights, market intelligence, category strategy, FMCG research, or business analysis.
- Prior experience in FMCG / Food & Beverage / Flavours / Ingredients / Consumer Products is strongly preferred.
- Strong ability to convert research into actionable business recommendations.
- Excellent presentation and storytelling skills.
- Strong command over PowerPoint, Excel, and research documentation.
- Ability to work closely with sales, R&D, application, marketing, and leadership teams.
- Candidates must be based in Mumbai / Navi Mumbai / Thane / nearby regions.
Good to Have- Experience with flavour houses, food ingredient companies, FMCG brands, market research agencies, or consulting firms.
- Exposure to trend platforms, market research reports, product databases, retail/category audits, or consumer research studies.
- Understanding of B2B environments and how insights support customer pitches.
- Familiarity with AI tools for research, synthesis, presentation building, and trend mapping.
- Interest in food, flavours, product innovation, and consumer behaviour.

- Help R&D/Application teams develop new concepts based on real market needs.
- Set up a structured research and insight-sharing system for internal teams.
