Company Description The Avyay is focused on transforming healthcare accessibility in rural and underserved regions of India through AVYAY, an AI diagnostic kiosk that provides comprehensive preliminary health screening at primary health centers and community health centers. The ATM-sized station integrates AI-driven symptom analysis, multi-modal point-of-care diagnostics, real-time vital monitoring, and emergency ambulance dispatch, all fully ABDM-compliant. AVYAY categorizes patient conditions (normal, moderate, critical) and supports rapid escalation to hospitals within the golden hour. The platform addresses limited diagnostic access, delayed critical care, preventable morbidity, and fragmented health records by leveraging NLP/ML trained on Indian datasets, ABDM API integration, encrypted health records, telemedicine interfaces, and 5G-ready architecture. The Avyay’s mission is to reduce preventable deaths through data-driven, accessible, and dignified healthcare for over 900 million rural Indians.
Role Description The Research Assistant will support cross-functional research activities that inform product development, clinical validation, and impact assessment for AVYAY. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and conducting studies, collecting and organizing field and laboratory data, performing quantitative and qualitative analyses, and preparing clear reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. The role involves collaborating with engineering, medical, and operations teams to refine diagnostic algorithms, evaluate user experience, and document outcomes in low-resource settings. The Research Assistant will also assist with literature reviews, protocol documentation, data quality checks, and ethical compliance. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Indore.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills and Data Analysis capabilities to interpret research findings and support evidence-based decision-making.
- Candidates should possess solid Research experience, including study design, data collection, and literature review in healthcare, public health, or related fields.
- Candidates should possess Laboratory Skills appropriate for basic diagnostics, sample handling, and adherence to safety and quality protocols.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and presenting technical information clearly.
- Relevant education such as a bachelor’s or master’s degree in public health, life sciences, biomedical engineering, data science, or a related discipline.
- Comfort working in low-resource or rural settings and interacting respectfully with diverse communities and healthcare workers.
- Familiarity with healthcare data standards, digital health tools, or AI/ML concepts is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and maintain high attention to detail.
