We are looking for highly motivated Research Assistants to join us at the exciting intersection of Neuroscience, Medical Imaging, and AI-driven Analytics.
This role offers a unique opportunity to act as a bridge between our Analytics Team (developing AI-powered histology pattern detectors) and our Neuroscience Research Team (defining research problems and validating outcomes).
🔬 About SGBC
The Sudha Gopalakrishnan Brain Centre (SGBC) at IIT Madras is a multidisciplinary research and development Centre dedicated to advancing brain research through the integration of Medicine, Neuroscience, and Engineering.
💼 Key Responsibilities
✔ Serve as the key liaison between AI engineers and neuroscience researchers
✔ Translate biological research needs into technical specifications
✔ Support testing and validation of AI-driven histology tools using biological datasets
✔ Contribute to refining AI/ML workflows based on research insights
🎓 Required Qualifications
✔ Postgraduate degree (Master’s / PhD) in Life Sciences, Data Analysis, or any interdisciplinary science field
✔ Strong interest in Neuroscience, Histology, and Computer Vision
✔ Excellent communication and collaboration skills
⭐ Highly Desirable Skills
✔ Exposure to Histology or Medical Image Analysis
✔ Experience with AI/ML workflows or data-intensive research environments
✔ Familiarity with digital pathology or histology pattern recognition
