Position: Engineer – Research & Development (R&D)
Location: Khandala (Satara) / Pune
Industry: Boiler, Distillery, Evaporators, Dryer and Process Plant Equipment.
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and technically sound Chemical Engineer to join our R&D team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in pilot plant design, process engineering, scale-up, and reaction engineering. The role involves designing and optimizing chemical processes, performing engineering calculations, and supporting technology transfer from laboratory to commercial scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform heat and mass balance calculations for chemical processes.
- Execute technology transfer activities and process scale-up calculations.
- Design, develop, and support pilot plant operations.
- Carry out engineering calculations for:
- Pipe sizing
- Pump selection
- Heat exchanger sizing
- Pressure vessel and storage vessel sizing
- Design and optimize unit operations such as:
- Gas scrubbing
- Extraction
- Chemical reactions
- Filtration systems
- Work on gas-phase reaction processes and perform calculations related to WHSV (Weight Hourly Space Velocity) and GHSV (Gas Hourly Space Velocity).
- Support the design and operation of high-temperature and high-pressure processes.
- Monitor and troubleshoot process operations using SCADA and PLC systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for process development, optimization, and commercialization.
- Prepare technical reports, process documentation, and engineering calculations.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Preferred Knowledge
- Chemical Process Engineering, Process Optimization, Equipment Design
- Industrial Safety Standards, Process Commissioning. P&ID Interpretation
- Pilot Plant Operations
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering (Mandatory)
Experience
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in Process Engineering, R&D, or Pilot Plant Operations.
