Role Description
We are seeking a highly analytical, insight‑driven Research Analyst who can transform complex data into strategic narratives for senior business audiences.
The ideal candidate combines rigorous quantitative skills with strong storytelling, editorial discipline, and consulting‑grade presentation abilities.
You will directly contribute to Cedar’s thought leadership agenda by producing high‑quality industry reports, whitepapers, benchmarking studies, and market models.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Insight & Synthesis: Ability to transform raw data into high-level "So-What" insights. You must move beyond description to provide strategic commentary that positions the firm as a thought leader.
- Data Story lining & Visualization: Expertise in turning complex datasets into compelling visual narratives. You should be adept at creating "consulting-ready" charts that communicate insights at a glance.
- Executive-Grade Report Writing: Exceptional command of business English and the Pyramid Principle. Proven experience in authoring one-time and quarterly industry whitepapers for a C-suite audience.
- Information Governance & Curation: Mastery of secondary research using premium databases (e.g., Bloomberg, Statista, Reuters) with a sharp eye for source credibility and data triangulation.
- Advanced Market Modelling: High proficiency in Excel-based quantitative analysis, including market sizing, trend forecasting, and CAGR projections with logical rigour.
- Competitive Intelligence: Experience in deep-dive benchmarking, SWOT analysis, and identifying emerging disruptive forces within global and local industry landscapes.
- Primary Research Integration: Skill in designing qualitative interview guides and synthesizing "boots-on-the-ground" intelligence from industry experts to validate desk research.
- End-to-End Project Ownership: A "finisher" mindset with the ability to manage the publication lifecycle—from initial scoping to final proofing—ensuring deadlines are met with precision.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or related field.
- 3–4 years of experience in research/report writing roles.
Technical Skills
- Advanced Excel modelling
- Strong Word, PowerPoint structuring and slide-writing
- Research proficiency with databases (Bloomberg, Statista, Reuters, Capital IQ)
- Strong command of business English

- Storytelling and logical reasoning
- Structured thinking (Pyramid Principle, MECE)
