About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically strong Research Analyst to join our team and support the strategic initiatives within the Shipping and Logistics sector. The ideal candidate should have a passion for market research, a strong understanding of shipping logistics trends, and the ability to generate meaningful insights to support business of the date research and analysis products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis on global and regional maritime trends, port developments, shipping routes, regulatory changes, and technological advancements.
- Cargo profile, Cargo trends, rail/road connectivity.
- Track market dynamics, competitive landscape, and policy shifts impacting the logistics sector.
- Develop insightful reports, whitepapers, and presentations for internal stakeholders, partners, and clients.
- Analyze trade data, port statistics, vessel movement, and economic indicators to forecast industry and cargo trends.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business development, conferences, and policy advocacy work.
- Prepare weekly l monthly l Quarterly reports sectoral snapshots, and executive summaries for clients.
- Attend relevant maritime events/webinars and summarize key takeaways for organizational knowledge building.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Maritime Studies, Economics, International Business, Logistics, or related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in research/analysis roles, preferably within the maritime, shipping, port logistics, or allied industries.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint), data visualization tools, and online research platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of global maritime regulations, IMO policies, and sustainability trends is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Preferred Attributes:
- Having handon experience in conducting research (e.g., crunchbase, pitchbook, Bloomberg, Owler, Clarkson, IHS, UNCTAD reports)
- Experience working with government stakeholders, industry bodies, or shipping associations
